Mom and Dad

I am sending you this card
To tell you how much I care
Precious memories you've given me
And now my gratitude I need to share.

Growing up, times were hard
Looking back I wonder how we survived.
But Christmas Day was always special
And you made it come alive.

Christmas love, it filled the house
Sights and sounds were everywhere.
Neighbors all they pulled together
And of their bounty they did share.

It is my hope to treat my family
And to give to them as you have given to me.
To give to them sweet precious memories
And to have the same respect I have for thee.

I hope that I can continue the tradition
But I know this task it will be hard.
And I hope you will know I love you
As you read this Christmas card.
